The meaning of life is to find your gift.
The purpose of life is to give it away. — Pablo Picasso
WHO IS BEHIND STUDIO KENTO?
Over the past 10 years I have worked with homeware, fashion, bathroom and kitchen design products. From styling in my nappies with my mother Meredith and Grandmother Lilly to working for Australian design icons including Lisa Ho in Sydney, interior styling has always been a big part of my life. In 2009 I transitioned into the bathroom and kitchen industry where my love for design, styling and product sourcing flourished, providing the opportunity to follow my dream and open Studio Kento.
WHAT CAN WE OFFER YOU?
My motivation comes from a love and passion for classical style homes. As a design consultant I help clients design, source and style the perfect products transforming their vision into a fabulous reality.
WHERE DOES THE NAME -KENTO- COME FROM?
The studio is named in honour of my great grandmother's stage name. The Kento Trio, Lilly along with her brother Reggie and their mother were an acrobatic novelty in the early 1900s. Performance art and design have been and continue to be integral to our family. Lilly's eye for detail, impeccable style and fun loving attitude will always influence and inspire my family, never to be forgotten. So when selecting a name for the Studio I could think of no other than Studio Kento.
All things glamorous! As a former ballroom dancer I find myself drawn to the classic luxury and through this I developed an art for embellishment.
My school holidays were spent watching Fred Astaire movies with my great grandmother Lilly. We would discuss the colour scheme, set design and costumes.
A small taste of some of my favorite treasures. From beautiful architectural elements, antiques and vintage treasures to timeless french living inspired by products from Australia and around the word. Each item is carefully selected for its unique beauty and charm.
